MINECRAFT • MULTIPLAYER
Play together without the chaos.
A quick guide to worlds, servers, permissions, and connection problems.
Before inviting players
- Make sure everyone is using a compatible edition/version.
- Back up the world before major changes.
- Decide who should have operator/admin permissions.
- Keep important coordinates and server details somewhere safe.
Commands & permissions
Use the smallest permission level needed. Avoid giving operator access when a player only needs a specific gameplay command.
Use the Command Generator to build commands and the Minecraft Help reference for selector and syntax details.
Connection problems
- Confirm the host/server is actually online.
- Check the address and port carefully.
- Confirm players are on the expected edition and version.
- Restart the game before changing multiple settings at once.
- If everyone is affected, investigate the server/host. If one player is affected, investigate that player's network or client.
